"This is official.'Flying Sikh' Padmashree Milkha Singh ji has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest in the inauguration ceremony of Siliguri Carnival 2014 and to bear the carnival torch and interact with the young sports talents of this city.

Year 1958 in Indian History is Known as TheFlying Sikh, Indian athlete Milka Singh won two gold medals in the Asian Games, one of the fastest runner in the world at the time, millions of heart were broken when he missed the Medal by a whisker, in the subsequent Olympic Games .
